Dachshunds and More

Meet Judy:

A native of New Harmony, Indiana, Judy Nix has always loved animals, although her first vocation lay in human special education.  With great love and devotion to that cause, Judy spent many years teaching children with special needs, such as Downs Syndrome.  After her daughter was born, Judy retired from teaching and found herself reacquainted with another passion, the care of people's "other children", their pets.

In 2007, Judy decided to turn her second career into an official business, naming it Dachshunds and More, in honor of her dachshunds Otis (who had passed away that year), Frank, and Bailey.

Judy's reputation has spread and her client base is growing quickly.  She strives to be the very best at what she does, and believes that each and every client deserves the most exceptional care.

                                     Meet Emily:

Judy's daughter Emily has worked alongside her since 2008, giving Dachshunds and More the opportunity to serve a broader client base and travel radius.  Emily loves animals and has most recently been involved with the rescue and placement of unwanted litters of puppies; she also has her own "baby", a Scottish terrier named MacKenzie.

Emily is a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University, where she earned her Masters Degree in 2012.
